
Dog Friendly Beaches/Off-Leash Exercise Areas
Bringing your furry friend? You’ll fit right into the dog-loving Port Sorell community. You should always bring a lead just in case, but here are some great spots to let your dog run free.
Squeaking Point 200m each way of the boat ramp. Dogs on lead between 10am to 7pm from 1st Oct to 31st March, Dogs under effective control – at all other times.
Freers Beach from Hawley Place Beach access walkway around to the point that goes out to Penguin Island. Area Boundary is Rock Reefs (Rocky Outcrop) – Past Rock Reefs is Prohibited to Dogs. Dogs on lead between 10am to 7pm from 1st Oct to 31st March. Dogs under effective control – at all other times.
Hawley Beach – Dog Exercise Area, between Larooma Road & Hawley Esplanade junction and Vine Street. Dog under effective control from dawn till dusk.
Moorlands Beach/Northdown Beach – Moorlands Beach and Pardoe Beach West of Moorland Point to Municipal Boundary.
